Topic #1 CHARACTER

Which character in which story that we have read so far do you relate to the most? (Who are you most like?)  Start with a topic sentence identifying the character, the author, and the short story.  Example:  I can relate to Pete Maneri in W. C. Heinz’s short story “One Throw.”  Then develop that statement with at least five more sentences.  Proofread your paragraph and put your name and block 2A or 2B at the top before your begin typing!! [We also read Evan Hunter’s “On the Sidewalk Bleeding” and Richard Matheson’s “Button, Button.”]  Remember to use an apostrophe to show ownership, and remember to use quotation marks for the story's title.

I can relate to Pete Maneri in the short story , "One Throw " because I feel like I'm loyal to my team or my people . It doesn't even has to be a sports team , I'm loyal to my people . Like my family or my really close boys , I wouldn't do them dirty or do something that will benefit me but then hurt them in return . Just like Pete was with his baseball team , I'll be with my "team" . Be loyal to them at all times .

So far I'm not like any of the characters we've read about yet. I just don't see myself in any of these stories so far. I'm more independent and none of these stories shows my type of independence. I think I'm more like Malinda Sordino from the book speak. She was like a strong silent type of person. She was alone. She had friends but they turned on her. This is more like me and how I'm living. I'm living friendless and alone just like her, until she started taking art. She loved art, I love art too. Art is a way for you to express yourself when you can't find the right words too. I'm like her more than anyone else I've ever read about.

In W.C Heinz's story "One Throw" I can relate to Pete Maneri. I relate to him because when I do things i just dont think of my self I think of te people surrounding me , like what would happen if i do this. In the story Pete wanted something that would benifit him in life. Pete knew by throwing that ball henwould jepperdize his team , Pete is a true team player. For me last year , on the tennis team , I was playing doubles and the game lasted so long that I was beat and my feet hurted . I wanted to quit but I couldnt , If I quited that was going to jepperdize my teammates future had to keep up and go . I wasnt thinking bout myself I was thinking bout my teammate. That is why i can relate to Pete Maneri in "One Throw"

In the story "Button,Button by Richard Matheson's I relate to Author. I most like Author because he made the right decision. Meaning Norma wanted to push the button because she would receive 25 thousands dollars. But Author said if she push the button it would kill somebody she won't know. So that would be consider murrder author said. Author didnt push the button but Norma did. So I think I relate to Author. Author made the right decision by not pressing the button and killing someone he don't know.

I relate to pete maneri in M.C HeInz's short story because he only had one chance to make it to the league he didnt want to make his team lose and not everyone have alot of chances. That's why it's best to just do what you going for in life even if it might take a while.

I relate to Mrs.Lewis in Button Button because she remind me of myself .. I would've pressed the button because I was getting $50,000 & I was killing somebody I didn't know . Then again I wouldn't press the button because it could be a trick & I could be killing someone loved one .

I can relate to Pete maneri in "one throw" I wouldn't want to throw my races just to bring attention to myself because that wouldn't be being loyal to my team. When your apart of a team it's not all about you, it's about everyone that's part of being a team. Also you never know what might happen if you do the right thing. Good things come to those who do good things.

I can relate to Mr. Authur Lewis from "Button, Button" because we could agree that taking someone's life isn't worth for our selfish desires. Money can take over a person's mind and to what cost would someone's life being taken from would it gain. Nothing last forever, so why be greedy when we should be grateful to what we have left.

I can relate to Mr. Lewis in "button button" by Richard Matheson's because he knew that pressing that button was wrong. That even if you didn't know who or how that person die it still makes you a murder. That the person can be any one, it could be a little girl for all they know. That it doesn't matter how you want to put it's wrong and unmoral.

I can relate to the story Button Button by Richard matheson. I can also relate to Norma because she wanted to have a better life with her husband she didn't want to be working she wanted to go on trips and do things with her husband. But if she knew that her husband was going to be the one that was going to die. I think she would have not pushed the button

I can relate to Mr. Arthur Lewis from "button, button" because we can't kill some one for money, and you have to work for the money not kill people to get the money.
Is not the some when you earn the money and when you don't earn the money because when you earn the money you fill good and when you don't earn the money you don't fill well because you know that you didt earn the money the right way.

Oscar Escobar 2A I can't relate to no one in the three short stores so far. For example I'm not in a gang like Andy. I can't relate to the other characters from the other short stories.

Mr. Williams,
You cut and pasted another student's response. Shame on you. The zero I'm giving you for cheating cannot be made up. I'm disappointed in you.

I can relate to Pete Maneri in the short story because being loyal is something that is very important. Speacially when it comes to your friends and family. Also because I know if I'm loyal to them they will loyal to me in any circumstance. Its always good to think about yourself but you should think of how it will effect the people that surround you.

I can relate to Pete Maneri in W. C. Heinz’s short story “One Throw.” because I been in a similar situation like that. There was a time when I didn't know I was around someone that can help me go to the next level. For example when I met the The Three Doctors. The three doctors is three men that made a pack from kids to be doctors in the future even though they was from the hood. After I met up with them and they found out we made the same pack they helped us write our own book. It was a good feeling.
